Post-4 Day Weekend with Wheels
Kim and I (meaning Kim b/c I have no driving skills) had my aunt and uncles truck over the long weekend while they were on vacation...we utilized it fairly well being that neither of us often have access to wheels.Friday I went to the BLUE DOT/David Suzuki show up at UVic with Tracey and Adrienne...that was very interesting and compelling...the premise being that if we intend to make change regarding the environment we must have the Canadian Constitution amended to say all Canadians have a right to clean air, water, land and sea....without the law changed that the corporations and greed will always win. Some great music and speakers and of course David Suzuki talked for about 20 mins at the end and that was certainly the highlight.
Saturday we went to the Shaw Ocean Aquarium in Sidney...loved that...great displays of jellyfish and other Salish Sea creatures. We then went to the RumRunner Pub for lunch and dined on steak sandwiches that were amazing...amazing enough that neither of us had our lunch ruined by the one toothed, old man making bad noises nearby while he ate soup....or the flies buzzing around. Flies in restaurant (2nd time) = not going back - no matter how good the food was.![]() |

Sunday we visited Keith's place out in Colwood and dropped off some chairs...always good for conversation...as soon as the chat went sideways when I brought up lip sweat we left. We hit Costco and I wanted to kill myself in 45 different ways...jfc that place is a madhouse when it is busy....hate it...not enough to forgo cheap ketchup though...I had a few other things I needed though so it was worth it...Kim as well. After that we went and saw NIGHTCRAWLER at the fancy theatre in Langford...reclining seats...despite having a busted neck (yes again....well it never completely went away so it is really the same broken neck I have had for 3 effing weeks now) and just eating lunch I still managed to eat popcorn and slushee and a bag of M&Ms....rolled out of there and went home dead as a doornail and did not eat anything until the next day. So bad.Monday I was too wrecked to live and stayed home until Pam and Jim got back from Phoenix, AZ yesterday. They had a pretty cool time...so hot there though....85+ and the locals call that winter and do not use the pool hahaha
