Ceiling Rat Vol. I
My birthday cactus from Ayla...is rather fantastic...
So...remember that cute-ish lil dead rodent we found on Ayla's bedroom floor a few weeks ago...? Yeah....now there are CEILING RATS...they scritch & scratch up there all the damn time. Pest control guy says he cannot find any points of entry which is great HAD A SMALL ONE NOT ALREADY BREACHED THE PERIMETER!!!!!!!!! I am choosing to believe it only got in b/c it was small and the big adult rats can't fit.
Anyway....the key would be to trap the assholes up in the ceiling and kill them...the pest guy requested the bldg manage cut a hole for him in the ceiling so he could do that but he did not seem to think they would go for it....so...I guess it is expected you just get to live knowing there are rats in the ceiling shitting and pissing all over the place, keeping you up at night and grossing you the fuck out? If they do not allow this trapping in the ceiling it is going to get ugly and we will obviously have to move which is a nightmare - but at the same time a blessing perhaps b/c I actually really do not like this area. I love the pool and the size of the apt....
PROS AND CONS LIST:
PROS: pool/hot tub, nice breeze off the water/good air flow/windows, 24 hr laundry, good storage/closets, bedroom sizes good, decent sound proofing for neighbor noise (excluding asshole dog barking downstairs), bus takes me right in front of work in the AM, 2 elevators.
CONS: #11 bus is gross and full of weirdos, weirdos in the next bldg are extremely loud and keep you up at night and stare at you if you are on the balcony, asshole dog barking downstairs, hallway is hotter than gawd damn Mordor all the time, hallways stinks a lot, creeps, side exit is exit only and cannot be used as an entrance, 800 mile walk from elevator to apt door (almost), Sue left and now the landlords seem to be lost and inept without her, sketchy neighborhood, oh and the RATS.
I have only been here a year and a half and anyone who has moved knows the costs of moving are ridiculous....600ish damage dep, 600ish pet deposit, 1100 movers (what it cost to move in here - I suspect less next time), new curtain rods, shower curtain, screens, and 200 other little things you always seem to need to pimp up your new place...never mind moving supplies and shit...omg I do not feel like moving and if we move we are holding out for a better place....if I have to give up the pool I am having in suite laundry dammit...and want to move away from the gorge. It is even too ghetto for me.
Time will tell...
Emailed pest guy this morning for an update....
