Musings from another time...

COVID: I don't really want to talk about COVID. I am sick of talking about how some people can't be bothered to mask up or how certain countries are simply inept at handling the situation (cough cough USA cough cough). It has all been said and done, to the end of time and back and I can't even read about it anymore. We are into the 6 month mark and I can see quite clearly this is a new reality going forward.

OLD PLACE: After last said backyard blowout a few posts ago - I moved. How could I not after creating such a hostile living environment? LOL That was certainly COVID related. I am sure I would have gone on eating the noisy shit sandwiches the fuckheads above us were handing us daily had COVID not tipped the scales ever so slightly. As it turns out...while I miss having a yard and gardens quite fiercely...and all my plant babies...and animal pals...I do not miss the noise from above....or the high utility bills...or the lack of light and fresh air...so it worked out ok. Once we left the owner decided to sell so the the noisy ppl don't get to enjoy the house and yard anymore either Sept 1 and b/c I am a petty turd - I am happy about that.

BLACK LIVES MATTER: I have been reading a lot about systemic racism and what it looks like and how it has affected Black ppl over time...it has been incredibly educational. I was not of the mindset systemic racism was not real or anything but all these amazing conversations about it and the Black experience have been really great for perspective and understanding. What a movement, honestly...so much traction - I hope it will stick and withstand all the other crap going on and lead to long lasting change. It has - of course - highlighted just how polarized and ignorant some of our earthly comrades are. I feel my eyes bulging out at least a 3x a day reading some of the garbage people post.
Some have declared this the 2nd civil war...interesting concept...Dr Spencer Wells has great insights on this podcast about the US (he is American as well but has moved to Indonesia recently) THIS EPISODE was really really great.
I have started some reading about Nile Valley Contributions to north american society....Just WOW.

I am on vacation this week...I feel like I have ADHD so I made myself a list of things to do for the week to avoid missing a bunch of key items I have been putting off until this week. Sealing the grout in my bathroom, for instance, doesn't that sound just effing fab? Exactly. SAD.
