Old Love

Image
Things I have loved for a long time... Queensryche's Operation: Mindcrime album....specifically the Suite Sister Mary song, 10 mins of bliss. Love that song to this day. Soap that Maureen sends me with scratchy as fuck PEI sand in it....divine. [this is me being positive in case you missed it] Ultra Fine Sharpie Felt Pens for doodling. Brushing my teeth in the shower. Baby things...baby cats...baby humans....baby rodents...baby dogs. Fans & A/C. Man arms. [Keeping it clean here...] My sprog when she belly laughs. Rocks. Beach glass. Good hair days. [A rare occurrence these days] Writing letters. Christmas lights and weird tree ornaments. Laughing at people in all black who wear white runners. Sleeping. Tea with a buncha milk & sugar. A bra that fits. Being organized, which I am currently not. Sea onions.

Sunday...not at church...again....ever.

These 2 day weekends suck. I dragged the xmas bin out...and that is all. Maybe this week I will try and find the damn tree and go to town! At Alisa's for a haircut and came across a few of her recent pieces...holy mother...so good! The Man Lamp - Alisa Shebib Amazing detail on Audrey....drool dripping out of her mouth...etc...and the mirror in the mouth makes for a great effect. Love that gal. AND most importantly, she is a non-mullet hairdresser...she has never given me an accidental mullet! The pool is still so cold it freezes your tits off instantly...making swimming much easier. Ok not really but I enjoy the fact no one swims really...one man and his 2 kids came down and once they felt it turned around and went home. haha That is why I am not complaining to management about the cold water....I prefer being cold to sharing the pool. I am a greedy a-hole.

Saturday Morning Observations

Image
1) The new Damien Rice record is pretty nice... 2) I will never understand any BC First Nation band that sells out signs up for fracking and LNG faery tales the provincial gov't is peddling... ::shakes head:: 3) I watched a bunch of stuff on the death of Eric Clapton's 4 year old son last night...good gawd. What a total freak accident of nightmare quality....that moment you realize your wee one has just accidentally ran out of 53 story window that the cleaner just opened. Fuck. 4) I can smell the dead kale in my kitchen garbage can. 5) I need to  go see a few movies coming. 6) I also need to get a Thor xmas tree ornament. 7) It is haircut day...I wonder if it offends a hairdresser when you do your own hair after a haircut? I am not going straight home so it is necessary that I do not have girl hair when I am out and about....by girl hair I mean a hair-doo that I would never have ever...except if someone else did it. That probably makes no sense. 8)  I just embar...

Hell yeah....sign me up.

The Titanic...can I call it "The Tit" for short?

Image
Pretty sure the water where the Titanic sank was warmer than the pool water this week. Why on earth can't it be this brisk in the summer when you are dying from the heat and warm like a bath in the winter...? Another fine example of why the world would be a better place if I got to make a few decisions. During the 8 mile hike to my apartment from the elevator I was thinking about my life and how I got here...and why this many years in, being a reasonably bright person, I cannot find my chi...why am I still a lost mess of sorts...? And then like the simplest thing on earth I thought..."because you have not known anything else"...when you grow up feeling MEH....it is easy to chart that as normal....so MEH is normal...sometimes the MEH is darker....sometimes lighter...but MEH is the status quo....fast forward to the present and when you begin to think about mortality and health issues and other things that make you weird, you suddenly start to question how you let yourself...

Waiting Room....

At a Life Lab clinic for blood tests...a cop just had to do the walk of shame carrying his own pee in a cup through the waiting room. I detest parading my pee through public spaces...but I enjoyed watching a cop do it.

The life of a sad, pathetic rebel....

Well...so much for my attempts at relaxing and chilling out...weed is not my friend. The headaches are just terrible and it defeats the purpose quite honestly so...that short-lived gangsta life is over (haha I smoked it 4x)...Can't drink....can't be a pothead...pitiful. Instead I am making slow cooker mashed potatoes. Let's get real...I think it is rather apparent my crack is carbs. Who needs beer or weed when you have slow cooker mashed potatoes? FML. My brain is so mushed today I will stick to scrubbing cat barf out of the carpet (yes the cat still uses vomiting as a tool to get her food bowl filled up if I am not paying attention to her - such a dick) and trying to clean my gawd damn bedroom. I have A's xmas box almost done...just have to write her a xmas letter and try to make her promise she will not open it early. I so desperately want her to save it for xmas day it pisses me off she says she likely wont....the thought of her not having mom pressies xmas m...

Confession...

I just watched 2 seasons of Ex-Wives of Rock in 24 hrs. Holy Loser.

Rude.

Because I am too wrecked to sit at my pc...it's couch day. Even I am shocked at the state of bodily affairs going on here after almost 5 hours of standing at a concert (Sam Roberts...so good!)...wrecked...just ruined. So thank gawd I had the foresight to take today off before hand. Anyway...wah wah wah...I am just watching People's Court. It's what I do. I pvr that shit for days such as this. Last night - despite the standing part - was fun. Mindil Beach was great live...and Sam Roberts is always good...the crowd was typical...lots of young ppl having fun (that's code for annoying to ppl like me lol)...one guy was determined to get me to jump with him. No idea why I got singled out for that. He clearly had no idea I was already dying and desperately trying to prevent my gibbled hamstring from going full blown spasm... I told some stupid girl to f-off...Kim said I jabbed her in the armpit really good but I have no memory of that. Apparently it was her b'day.......

Post-4 Day Weekend with Wheels

Image
Kim and I (meaning Kim b/c I have no driving skills) had my aunt and uncles truck over the long weekend while they were on vacation...we utilized it fairly well being that neither of us often have access to wheels. Friday I went to the BLUE DOT/David Suzuki show up at UVic with Tracey and Adrienne...that was very interesting and compelling...the premise being that if we intend to make change regarding the environment we must have the Canadian Constitution amended to say all Canadians have a right to clean air, water, land and sea....without the law changed that the corporations and greed will always win. Some great music and speakers and of course David Suzuki talked for about 20 mins at the end and that was certainly the highlight. Saturday we went to the Shaw Ocean Aquarium in Sidney...loved that...great displays of jellyfish and other Salish Sea creatures. We then went to the RumRunner Pub for lunch and dined on steak sandwiches that were amazing...amazing enough that neith...

So boring....

This travesty called WORK. Forced to be there 4-5 days a week....all damn day long. You have to talk to people...be around people...take the damn bus to get there. Ugh. So looking forward to having days off...Sat, Sun, Mon, Tues...work Wed, off Thurs and then work Friday then 3 more days off. My kind of week. Pam and Jim just left for Phoenix, AZ today for a little Nascar/Casino holiday. The land of cactus and sun...I am in love with cactus at the moment...not the sun though. While they are gone Kim has their truck so we have made some plans for the weekend...going to see some jellyfish in Sidney...lunch in Sidney...drop in on a few friends (Keith and Kate)...Costco trip...movie at the Westshore theatre that has recliner type seats...drive up to the top of Mount Tolmie and Mount Doug for pictures and a sunset...oh the freedom!
